Rebranded.  Restored.  Renovated.

We hear this all the time with hotels, don’t we?  They close under one name and re-open as something else.

The bottom line: is it re-better?  With Jewel Paradise Cove, the answer is yes!

It’s passed through a few hands in the past couple of years, but this time, I think it’s going to stick.

Some of you may remember the property as the old Hedonism III—a romping good time for adults who wanted to leave their inhibitions at home.

Then in 2012, it was bought by Royal Decameron Fun Caribbean and had a few revisions under that umbrella.

But in February 2013, the hotel was bought by Aimbridge Hospitality and will become the third Jewel property in Jamaica as Jewel Paradise Cove.

It’s adults only…but not couples only.  So a girls’ getaway, father/son trip, family reunion, or that graduation celebration with the gang is definitely welcomed!

It began renovations in  April 2013 and is totally re-done…so yes, those mirrors have been removed from the bedroom ceilings.

In fact, the whole place has gotten a makeover.

The grounds are beautiful with colorful flowers and exotic plants.

All 225 rooms have received a face-lift boasting rich wood furniture with marble accents and patios/balconies for every room.

There’s a brand new two-story oceanfront spa, and 2 new restaurants bringing the total to 7—many with heart healthy choices.

The theme of the resort is around health and wellness.  Lots of chicken and fish dishes, and there is even a juice bar to get fruit smoothies…yum!

There’s a state-of-the-art fitness center to get your workout on, and Radiant Spa has everything from hot-stone massages to therapeutic relaxation treatments.

It’s definitely a place for the active because there’s tons of things to do.

They’ve upped the ante by including amenities that most resorts don’t…like water skiing, scuba, and golf.

There’s not one, but TWO swim-up pool bars, and there’s also a huge twisty waterslide that “triple dog-dares” you to give it a try.

The poolside concierge, though, is the best part.  Food, drinks, and even a fragranced cooling mist makes pool time the best time.

I love to get out and explore, and Jewel Paradise Cove helped my pocket there too.  The excursion to Dunn’s River Falls is included, as well as a trip to Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville.

The hotel is located in Runaway Bay in St. Ann’s Jamaica.  About an hour from the airport, it’s in a nice area.

The hotel is only about a minute from the Jewel Runaway Bay property (you can wave from the beach), but since Paradise Cove is adults-only, there is no exchange privilege.

The beach is quaint with two sections secluded in a little cove for extra privacy.

All in all, this new adults-only property, with it’s extra inclusions and totally re-vamped design launches Jewel into a class by itself.
